When such a deadly virus hits, there is always early containment, which happened rapidly in China. However, as soon as the virus starts to spread more rapidly outside its origin, it acquires its own identity.
This is the position we are in today after coronavirus accelerated in Italy after a similar incident in South Korea. The last week was marked by the fastest acceleration outside of China. The epidemic phase begins with the disease spreading across several countries and regions at the same time. That is why many experts say that this stage has just begun.
And yes, "markets on the limit" are already awakening...
To date, the rate of South Korea has fallen by 3.9%, including Australia - by 2.3%, and Hong Kong - by 1.8%, 1% or more in other countries of Southeast Asia and India.
Nasdaq decreased by 3.3%, Dow by 2.9% and S&P 500 by 2.7%.
Major European indices also declined from 3.2% to 3.9%.
Shanghai Composite fell least of all - by 0.3%.
Coronavirus has now broken out in 31 countries. In South Korea, there are already 833 cases, 233 - just on Monday, and 7 - died.
In addition, Japan has added more than 60 cases in the last week.
In Italy, a new shock of 140 is reported and continues to grow.
In Venice, a major carnival was closed in response and people were not happy about it.
Milan has closed 50,000 people.
A study by Imperial College London showed that two-thirds of the diseases were not registered. This suggests at least 230,000 people were infected. A study conducted by doctors from Henan province, north of Wuhan, showed that a woman without symptoms spread the infection to five family members within 19 days.
The duration of a normal incubation period without symptoms is estimated to be two weeks... but now it can probably be longer up to 24 days. Such a long incubation period is the most dangerous part of the disease, not the lethality rate compared to others. In this case, it can spread faster without being visible, without the ability to easily contain or soften... and that seems to be what's happening.
The regions of Far Asia, Mongolia, Eastern Russia, Northeast India, South Africa, Northern Europe, New Zealand, and a very small population in the upper northwest of Canada are now predicted to be most affected by the disease. In Africa, as Bill Gates warned, 10 million people could die as a result.
Stock markets are expected to fall by more than 800 after opening on Dow this morning. The biggest fears are the collapse of supply chains in China, and now around the world in places like Korea and Japan.
