The American actions were recorded modest gains . Investors chose to ignore the Existing Home Sales data and focus on the positive PMI Manufacturing boost confidence in the global economy . At the end of the session, the S & P 500 had gained 0.24% and the Dow had gained 0.06% . Asian stock markets climbed led by gains in the Nikkei . The Nikkei rose 0.87% as the dollar remained strong against the yen . The Hang Seng added 0.13 %, while investors continued to digest better than expected HSBC Manufacturing received in the previous session. European stock markets opened down in front of a series of data coming from Germany , including GDP.
WTI crude oil rose after the EIA reported a decline in weekly crude inventories . However , after weak U.S. data , including requests larger than expected and unemployment worse than expected existing home sales price fell slightly . Gold declined and fell below $ 1300/ounce as attention turned to the minutes of the FOMC meeting released Wednesday. The Federal Reserve revealed that they have plans to continue with the gradual reduction and the nominal interest rate will not be raised for a period of time.
