Twitter bans crypto ads and Bitcoin reacts.
Following Google and Facebook Twitter has also banned crypto ads. As it was in previous cases Bitcoin has lost a sensible amount of price percentage after the announcement was made. Around 7 percent of the price lost took the biggest and priciest crypto lower than 8000 USD per coin.
With that altcoins were also in the red after the announcement. Etherium lost almost 7 percent and went down to the point of 486.61 USD. Ripple lost 6 percent – 0.601 USD per coin. Bitcoin Cash fell 6.7 percent – 912.4 USD per coin.
Twitter officials have commented on the decision: “With the increasing number of ICOs coming to market, it is an impossible task for anyone, much less platforms like Twitter or Facebook, to keep on top of which ICOs and cryptocurrencies are genuine versus frauds… Although certainly ICO advertising must have been a significant source of revenue for Twitter, the repercussions of fraudulent activities just weren’t worth the risk.”
