When we start trading we start talking about it. And I bet that a lot of people were unaware that they have a soon-to-be professional trader in their midst. And of course people around us start asking questions – what it is like to trade?
And here is where we can stumble and not know what to say. But trading is so many things that I just had to go and describe it to you.
1. Interesting.
2. Exciting.
3. Profitable.
4. Time consuming.
5. Risky.
6. Educational.
7. Versatile.
1. Interesting.
I started off with the easiest of the options. Trading is interesting. It is interesting to see the patterns, read the charts, learn about new services and read new information. It all brings interest and spice into our lives.
2. Exciting.
Of course learning about trading and how interesting it is – it is just a very good bonus to earn money with it. But we need to admit – trading can be somewhat addictive through how exciting it is. It is this feeling that is lacking from all of the other activities and makes trading unique in its own right.
3. Profitable.
If you display a lot of interest and overcome your excitement, it is easy to see – trading can bring you A LOT of money. LIKE A LOT A LOT! You can easily make what you usually make in three months in a day. Of course for that you are going to have to work hard and to put a lot of time and effort but trust me – once that day comes you are not going to be able to resist the profitability of trading.
4. Time consuming.
Trading takes up a lot of time. You need to read the news, open you trading signal, check which of your trading accounts is better fitting for the current position, look at several time frames of the chart and put down the most optimal position of all. That is what trading is all about – doing everything by yourself and having to do it every day.
All of this of course is going to eat up a lot of your time. And you are going to have to make you peace with this fact. That is all there is to it.
5. Risky.
Pink glasses are not for us. Those who are going to deny that their trading is not risky are just going to keep on losing. That is why we need to admit the risks that we are facing with every trade we put down and with every pip that we are watching.
Risk is one of the defining qualities of trading and recognizing it can only do us good.
6. Educational.
Imagine that you have never taken on trading. What would that be like? Of course the amount of risk and excitement in your life would be lower, that is for sure. But you would also have no use from all of that info that you are consuming on a daily basis now. That means that you would have misses the opportunity to learn so much information… oh, sounds just horrible.
I can’t even begin to imagine that.
7. Versatile.
In reality no matter what you trade and which segment of the market you are going to be trading in trading is always the way you make it out to be. You can make it less or riskier, less or more exciting. Less or more interesting. It is all up to you and you alone. And the more invested you are into your trading the better it is going to be for you.
