I would say that it is safe to say – the fall came in all its rights. And with it came a lot of stress and bad mood. It is natural – we are not getting enough sun and we do not spend as much time outside. This, combined with the same level of stress that we constantly under can really lead to some seasonal depression.
But being weak and depressed all the time is not exactly the mood one would want to be in for a long time. So, even when the weather is getting worse and you see rains more than the sun, there are still ways in which you can relax after a grueling day in the markets.
1. Be in the nature more.
2. Read more.
3. Cook.
4. Pick up a new hobby.
5. Listen to some new music.
6. Just enjoy yourself.
1. Be in the nature more.
Try and hike – forest or a local park, it doesn’t matter. Just try and be out more. Walk among those golden fallen leaves, breathe in the fresh air of the season and try and relax under the rays of sun, if you are lucky to catch those. While it is still a bit warm, you can go to the bank of the river and try and sunbathe. It is not only going to warm you up, but also give all of that vitamin D for your health.
Try and go out to the quiet places where you can truly enjoy nature and calm.
2. Read more.
Try and read something that brings you joy – a comedic novel, a detective novel, some short romantic stories – whatever your taste. You can truly relax with a great book and a cup of hot tea. Just try and stay away from all of those educational books that you have been reading so much.
Take your time – do not hesitate to read one more chapter before going to bed. It is going to relax you just the way you need.
3. Cook.
Cooking is a great way to feel that you are in control of the situation. Just agree, that this is a rare thing for us as traders. And in the kitchen you are the one holding everything under control. It is a great relief as it has several purposes. First of all, you are relaxing outside of the markets, you hold control over the situation and you are preparing food for a perfect evening with your family.
Isn’t that what happiness is all about? Try that and you are going to see how much better you are going to feel afterwards.
4. Pick up a new hobby.
Hobbies are a perfect way to distract yourself from the rest of the world. Plus, if you choose the one where you have to do things with your hands it is not only going to be a nice change of pace for you, you also might just find yourself another source of income by selling whatever you are crafting.
Picking up a hobby that is as far away from your actual job as possible is going to let you have an escape when things get rough in the office.
5. Listen to some new music.
Try and research new musicians on your local scene. You might actually be surprised how many young and ambitious people are trying to make something new and exciting. And I promise you – long cold autumn nights are going to feel much more interesting when you have a new playlist all ready to blast.
6. Just enjoy yourself.
Try wrapping in a blanket, pouring some hot tea and enjoying your favorite music concert or a movie. Talk to your family and take walks with them in the park. Catch those glimpses of the golden fall and relax as much as you can. And you know what the best part of it all is? That you do not need to wait for the fall to enjoy yourself and your life.
