The world is wrapped in political uncertainty and political changes. And, during Brexit shakes we learned that trading, economy and politics are tightly connected with each other and any political changes make our trading very difficult and very challenging. But of course, there is so much going on in our own lives, that it might be hard to focus on the most important political changes in the world, so I decided to single out the most important of them.
1. US impeachment.
2. UK elections.
3. Trade war.
4. Riots.
1. US impeachment.
Impeachment inquiry, that Donald Trump is going through, has got to be one of the most important and loud political occurrence of the decade. It has been a long time since we saw American President being up for impeachment and it might just be the first time when an American President is not only impeached, but convicted as well. Although, that is still up for debate whether or not we are going to see conviction process in action.
Impeachment of Donald Trump is the best reminder to all of the presidents of the world that no one is above the law, even the most powerful man living.
Of course, impeachment takes a great chuck of our attention as it has been on the spot for almost two months now, but it might soon come to an end, as the head of inquiry – Adam Schiff announced that the report of Democratic Party as well as Impeachment Inquiry Committee might come out as soon as next couple of weeks.
2. UK elections.
UK elections that are going to take place in the next couple of weeks are going to decide the future of UK as well as the future of Brexit. There are several scenarios, according to which the situation might develop and the list is quite broad – from having a no-deal Brexit and leaving the EU by burning all the bridges to taking another referendum on the matter and staying in the Union.
Right now Conservative party of Boris Johnson is leading and, according to all the poles is set to take the majority of seats in the new government, but in reality the situation might be different and Tori might just take all the places. In this case we are going to see them try and reverse Brexit, which would be so much better for everyone.
The closer the elections are getting, the more turbulent GBP/USD is going to become, so we have to watch out for the couple.
3. Trade war.
Trade war is one of the most infamous conflicts of the last decade. After Trump announced that he had imposed trade tariffs on China, the entire world was on edge, as Trump really seemed to like slapping tariffs on absolutely every trade partner of the USA. But China suffered the most because of the alleged huge trade deficit between the countries.
Right now USA and China are trying to make a deal and are trying to find common ground for signing it. It was already announced, that the deal was almost reached, but in reality it was not. Right now there is another glimpse of hope that is being promptly erased by Trump signing bill supporting Hong Kong protesters against China's wishes. There is no way to tell what the end of this story is going to look like.
4. Riots.
Riots have now become very common all around the world. People in Venezuela, Hong Kong, Russia, Georgia, Iran and Czech Republic are coming out to the streets to show their disagreement with the corrupt politicians and those who have been in power for decades. People are getting tired of the existing regimes, because almost all of them are drenched in corruption or worse – crimes against human rights. Seems that the people of the world are not ready to withstand this any longer.
Although we do hope that the situation in the world is going to stabilize soon enough and we can come back to business-as-usual in no time.
