(may 27, 2014) Gold is traditionally an investment of choice when inflation is rising or global tensions are growing. But this year, despite the conflict between Russia and the Ukraine, gold prices haven't moved much, and inflation in much of the developed world is muted. "I'm not buying gold at the moment," international investor Jim Rogers tells The Daily Ticker. "But if the opportunity comes along -- and it will in the next year or two -- I will buy more."

 

 

 

AstraZeneca

(may 25, 2014) The United Kingdom’s opposition Labour party made a call last Sunday for an inquiry into the proposed takeover of British firm AstraZeneca by United States drug company, Pfizer. The party accused the government of "cheerleading" for a deal. The British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca rejected a 63 billion pound ($106 billion) bid from Pfizer on friday, but the U.S.

 

 

      

 

(may 24, 2014) The next currency crisis in Asia is brewing up. You are wondering from where! but it is simply from Ukraine/Russia/Crimea. The Russia/Ukraine relationship is not good as it is of now and this is a political as well as an economic crisis brewing up in Asia and which might spread to other close economies. The sanctions that are running after Russia are coming from major economies and may mean a lot for Russia and regional economies that trade with this country. No one imagined this crisis will reach this level and efforts to solve the crisis are bear no quantitative fruits.

(may 11 2014) Oil price fell lower than $102 a barrel today after official figures showed United States oil production at a twenty eight-year high & stockpiles start to rise again.

A little after midday in Europe, benchmark US crude for June delivery went down by 43 cents stopping at $101.94 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Just a day ago, the Nymex contract went up by 67 cents to close at $102.37.
